Dr. Charles Bowman is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a deep commitment to uplifting marginalized communities. As a former high school and college mathematics educator, Dr. Bowman draws from his lived experience as an underrepresented Black male in education to inform his work. This unique perspective has shaped his approach to instructional pedagogy, allowing him to reach and empower Black and Brown learners who are often overlooked in traditional math classrooms.

 

Dr. Bowman's experiences have dismantled stereotypes and sparked transformative change within his classroom, benefiting all students. He believes that culturally relevant practices are essential for bridging gaps in math education. These practices not only engage students more effectively but also highlight the brilliance of students of color, creating an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
